According to a Facebook post from the Palestinian ambassy in Sweden Minister Malki meets his #Swedish counterpart on the sidelines of the European Union Foreign Ministers meeting in #Brussels.
Knowing the diplomacy of Sweden. They always tell you what you want to heard and mirror your questions/demands. It is in the Swedish citizens best interest to overview Minister Billströms stands as lack of human values voting against ceasefire twich at the security council.
The ongoing campaign against the Swedish foreign minister with the demand of his resignation will not see this as a progress rather as an insult of months ignorance of a Palestinian movement with almost daily demonstrations, press releases, open letters and much more targeting Billström without any respons. This is lack of values that a minister should not have.

On January 22, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Riyad Al Malki held a meeting with his Swedish counterpart, Mr. Tobias Billström, on the sidelines of his participation in the European Union Foreign Ministers meeting in Brussels. Dr. Malki discussed Palestinian diplomatic efforts across international arenas, aiming to secure a cease fire in the Gaza Strip and halt the genocide being committed against our defenseless people.
Within the framework of the talks, Dr. Malki stressed the importance of intensifying international efforts to consolidate an effective stance that ends the escalation and mitigates its catastrophic effects. He emphasized that a just and comprehensive peace, based on a two-state solution, is the only way to protect the region from escalating conflicts and ensure security and peace throughout the area.
In turn, the Swedish minister expressed concern about the dire conditions in Gaza. He stated that Sweden supports a ceasefire and has increased humanitarian aid to the Strip. Minister Billström also voiced deep concern about settler violence and settlement expansion in the West Bank.

في إطار المحادثات التي تناولت تطوّرات الأوضاع في غزة والجهود المستمرة لوقف الحرب، أكد د.المالكي على أهمية تكثيف الجهود الدولية لجمع موقف فاعل ينهي التصعيد ويحد من تأثيراته الكارثية. كما شدد المالكي على أن السلام العادل والشامل مبني على حلاً قائماً على دولتين، يشكل الطريق الوحيد لحماية المنطقة من تفاقم الصراع، وضمان الأمن والسلام في المنطقة برمتها.
بدوره عبر الوزير السويدي عن قلقه من الأوضاع الكارثية في غزة وقال ان السويد تدعم وقف اطلاق النار وقامت بزيادة المساعدات الإنسانية المقدمة للقطاع، كما وعبر عن قلقه البالغ من عنف المستوطنين والتغول الاستيطاني في الضفة الغربية.
